We recently installed a new MIMS for denitrification studies at the Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology (NIGLAS), Chinese Academy of Science. The scientists at NIGLAS are front-line in the research on lakes and rivers and the damaging effects of over-fertilization (eutrophication). Nitrogen is a key element leading to hypoxia and harmful algal blooms and our MIMS will be instrumental in obtaining denitrification measurements which are central to understanding the fate of nitrogen loading in waterways. This new instrument happens to sit only two buildings away from another Bay Instruments MIMS run by the Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Science. This should make for great opportunities for these soil and water scientists to collaborate and share developments.
We are very pleased to bring on Senpro Mechanical & Electrical Co. as the exclusive distributor of our MIMS products in China. Owner Luo Yanqing (full right in picture) will be developing the technical and marketing expertise in his company to provide expert customer assistance with our technology. Senpro represents companies that support water science, meteorology, forestry, and agronomy and our MIMS fits in well with their portfolio and client base. We look forward to working closely with them and we are appreciative of their assistance in working with the Chinese market.
